Ana joins Cenk for SCS. Video of Karl Rove’s Gangsta Rap debut from the WH Corr Dinner several years ago. More journalists were assaulted and arrested during the continued clashes in Ferguson. Videos of some reporters being confronted by very angry and violent officers are shown. Ayatollah Khomeini tweeted multiple times about America’s problem with human rights violations. Talk about whether or not its ok to acknowledge some of the realities he’s talking about, despite his extreme hypocrisy regarding human rights. A Chinese newspaper’s op-ed pointed out America’s problem with racism and bias against Black Americans which jeopardizes social peace. Evansville, IN police raided the home of an elderly woman over some anti-police posts to an online forum. They tracked the IP address to her home and violently broke in. It turned out that the online threats never came from the home because someone used their internet since it wasn’t password protected. 17 suspected ebola patients in a quarantine center in Liberia have been taken out, presumably by family members that think the outbreak of the disease is a hoax. The FDA is failing to properly enforce oversight of the food industry, including chemical preservatives, flavorings, and thickening agents. Due to their failures, people are suffering from the side effects of consuming these chemicals. This system relies on the food industry to police themselves. The world’s 2nd wealthiest man, Carlos Slim has some plans for better financial success. One of his ideas is to have a 3 day work week, just longer hours, so that people will have more time for themselves and not become work robots. Cenk hosting. Latest on Ferguson, MO. The National Guard has been called in to calm the ongoing clashes. The anger was potentially ramped back up when a curfew was implemented. An independent autopsy was done after being commissioned by the Brown family, and showed that there were 6 bullet wounds in Brown’s body, with 2 in the head. The St. Louis medical examiner’s autopsy said that he was shot 6-8 times and had marijuana in his system. Some describe the weed aspect as a “bombshell.” It also said that Brown died about 35 feet from the police car, where the confrontation occurred. A neighbor that saw the shooting recorded some tape of the immediate aftermath. Videos of her being interviewed by CNN. A counter protest to support the Ferguson officer that killed Brown started up over the weekend. 125 people congregated, one being a Black man. Videos of a couple of the protesters espousing their blind support for the police officers, while blaming the Black community for jumping to conclusions. Cenk compares these reactions to the rabid, anti-government and law enforcement reactions Tea Partiers have when people like Cliven Bundy are confronted for breaking the law. Conservative talkers have come out in full force, looking to sully Brown’s character in death, labeling him a thug over rap lyrics. Videos of Bo Dietl on Fox News defending the militarization of the police and claiming that the bullets that ended up in Brown’s head “sometimes go that way.” Good news out of Ferguson from a cell phone shop owner that relayed his experience after his store was looted. The actual members of the community helped him clean up the store.
