Secondly, the Ice Bucket Challenge is merely a stunt for self-involved people that's more about showing your friends on Facebook what a good person you are rather than an act of charity. A restaurant in China has begun to use over a dozen robots to cook and deliver food to its patrons. Each robot costs about the same as the wages paid to an employee over the course of a year. Finally, robots can and should be utilized in the workforce wherever possible to increase efficiency and productivity. Continuing with a few more 1st hour stories. Harry Reid has apologized for a couple of Asian jokes he cracked at an event to an Asian American group. A Right Wing group recorded the jokes and posted them to the internet, causing Reid to apologize for the benign jokes. An Iowa official spoke about how fearful she is of immigrant children as young as 8 being highly trained warriors, coming here to destroy us. An Egyptian cleric wrote that as long as a man’s intentions are pure, he should be allowed to spy on a woman in the shower. The response from the Minister of Waqfs rejected this line of thinking. The Ferguson protests are dying down significantly, with only 7 arrests, for failure to disperse. The prosecutor has yet to even speak to Darren Wilson, the officer that killed Brown. It turns out that the prosecutor has relatives that are St. Louis cops, and his father was shot and killed by a Black man while responding to a police call. Discussion about how a conflict of interest is possible here. Actor Kevin Sorbo is in hot water for a Facebook post that calls Ferguson rioters animals and losers that are blaming The Man. Video of Kevin Sorbo telling TMZ that he is not a racist, but apologizes for his comments. The report that officer Wilson suffered a blowout fracture around his eye socket turns out to be untrue. This comes after Conservative talkers like O’Reilly and Hannity continued to report this as news. Videos of Talib Kweli confronting Don Lemon during an interview for his coverage of the situation in Ferguson. The TV show Untold Stories of the ER, profiled a teenaged girl that pooped out a toilet bowl full of tapeworms. It turns out that her mother gave her unsuspecting daughter pills with tapeworm eggs in them so that she could lose some weight for a pageant. Show notes by Jayar Jackson. Cenk, Ana, John, and Jimmy hosting. Chuck Hagel outlined the dangers surrounding ISIS and what we should do about it. Cenk has an answer of what we should do, pointing out that Hagel isn’t simply fear mongering. Speculation on how ISIS could advance, and in which countries. Video of Rick Perry claiming that although he has no proof, ISIS members could be crossing the Mexico border to do harm in America. Admiral Kirby was asked about it, and said there is no proof of this. Cenk talks about how Perry gets a pass for being incredibly dumb, while Sarah Palin doesn’t because of sexism. Hamas has been killing purported collaborators with Israel that were originally on their side. Cenk determines that Hamas is the worst at PR since it called the operation “Strangling the Necks,” and that they have probably executed many innocent people. Steve Oh jumps in. A new open carry group in Texas has sprung up. This group consists of Black Americans to stand up to police violence against Black citizens. Ana wonders where the NRA support is for this group. Cenk thinks this will lead to gun control now that there is a feared group exercising the same rights many gun advocates preach. Jimmy predicts that police will confront and shoot these members.
