The Young Turks: August 15, 2014

Ana joins Cenk, Jimmy, and Ben for SCS.  TYT Poll results on the Steubenville rape case and the player being allowed back onto the football team are revealed.  Information about the Ferguson police department keeps coming out.  One old story is of a horrific and unfair arrest of a Black citizen on his way home from work in the middle of the night.  Once they had him in custody, they severely beat him and threw him into a cell for the night, only to file property damages charges against him for bleeding on their uniforms, which came from the brutal beating. The two journalists that were arrested while covering the protests in Ferguson continue to get criticized by others, including a writer from The Daily Caller named Patrick Howley.  He has past beef with the Huffington post journalist that was arrested.  Cenk tells a story of the schmoozing he was involved in while working with MSNBC and how much the establishment loves Tucker Carlson.  An updated sex ed class was offered to 9th grade Fremont California students, but not required.  It was scrapped from even being offered once concerned parents got a petition signed against it.  Everyone tells their sex-ed stories. Cenk, Ben, Iadarola, and Jimmy Dore hosting.  The Ferguson, MO police chief has announced the name of the officer that shot and killed Michael Brown.  He went on to release information that Brown was a suspect in a convenience store robbery right before he was confronted by the police.  Video of the surveillance footage of Brown stealing cigars from the store has been released.  Cenk points out that Conservatives feel justified in labeling Black people criminals and thieves that deserved to be shot by the police.  Later in the day, the same police chief told reporters that the officer confronted Brown without knowledge of any robbery.  Brown’s family released a statement about how insulted they are over the police looking to assassinate their son’s character in death.  Ben talks about how wrong Howard Stern is on cases like the conflict between Israel and Palestine.  Military grade vehicles like the MRAP are being given to local police departments by way of the Pentagon.  The application to get their hands on one is simply one page.  MO Hwy Patrol Sergeant spoke about the potential coverup. The Ukrainian military has destroyed a Russian convoy in the eastern part of the county overnight.  Cenk is convinced that Russia will invade Ukraine.  Cenk, Ben, and Jimmy talk trash to John for not finishing his PhD.  Breaking news, Rick Perry has been indicted by the Grand Jury for abuse of power.
