The Young Turks: October 30, 2013

Dave Rubin, Jimmy Dore, and Michael Shure hosting from YouTube Space LA. Jorge Ramos grills Senator Ted Cruz in an interview on Fusion. Ramos asked Cruz about his presidential aspirations, a question the Senator unsurprisingly dodged. Ramos went on to press Cruz on his opposition to the proposed immigration bill in spite of the fact the senator’s father is a Canadian immigrant himself. Cenk Uygur joins Dave, Jimmy, and Michael. Cenk reads #TYTLive tweets and updates Indiegogo campaign progress. President Obama’s persistent promise that people will be able to keep their current insurance after the implementation of the ACA begins, might not be entirely true. According to testimony by Health and Human Services Secretary Sebelius, many health insurance plans will not be grandfathered in under the legislation, but only because those insurance plans will now be inferior to those now available. Was Obama’s dishonesty necessary to sell reform to the public? During Sebelius’ testimony before Congress, 90 year old representative Ralph Hill had some very strange questions for the secretary. Hill is the oldest member of the House in history. Senator Coburn explains why he called Senator Reid an asshole. In response to accusations by representative Louie Gohmert that he supports al-Qaeda, Senator McCain called the representative someone of “no intelligence” on NBC Nightly News. South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham’s approval rating is plummeting in the general population and among Republicans, presumably over his handling of the government shutdown.
