The Young Turks: June 28, 2013

More anger and fallout from the Court ruling on DOMA and Prop 8 in California.  Pat Robertson wondered if Justice Kennedy has any gay clerks, making him change his mind.  A Pennsylvania State Rep was prevented from speaking on the Floor by a Republican colleague about the gay marriage issue because he felt it would be against God’s Will.  Video of Rep Huelskamp spoke with CNN about how he thinks the DOMA ruling will prompt people to come out harder against gay rights/marriage.  Chris Christie came out and called the ruling a mistake.  Talk about how this will hurt Christie in ‘16.  The Family Research Council started a new prayer campaign to combat the onslaught of gay marriage with a logo that was suspiciously homosexual. After Wendy Davis filibustered and stopped the sweeping abortion clinic bill in Texas, Rick Perry spoke at the National Right to Life conference and pointed out that Davis was a teenage mother herself and hasn’t learned from her experience.  Wendy Davis responded by calling his approach, “small words.”  The Senate has passed an Immigration Reform bill, which puts the pressure on John Boehner to come through in the House.  Potential fixes with the Voting Rights Act. Another study on money and happiness.  A 18 year old kid was arrested and put in juvenile hall after he sarcastically posted that he’s crazy and will shoot up a school when told he is crazy.  A man was forced to pay $675K for sharing 30 songs on the internet.  Loan rates on future federal student loans will rise to 6.8%...a doubling.  A province in China has decided to legalize happy ending massages, under the conclusion that its not prostitution because it’s not a sex act.  Asian Tiger mosquitoes are on the rise and headed to more countries.
